Discover how nature provided everything needed for survival by joining a park ranger for an engaging program exploring the plants, fungi, and natural resources used by the Comanche, Apache, and other Native peoples. Participants will also learn about the resources relied upon by early European settlers and explore the science behind medicinal plants, including their traditional uses, safety, and effectiveness. This educational experience offers a fascinating look at how people thrived long before modern conveniences.
🥾 Outdoor Exploration & Ranger-Led Learning
The program takes place along the Texas Oak Trailhead, where participants will enjoy a guided walk while discovering the natural world around them. Guests are encouraged to wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a sense of curiosity as they explore the park and learn about the many ways nature has supported people throughout history.
🌳 Admission & Information
This ranger-led program is included with park entrance and is weather dependent. Participants should meet at the Texas Oak Trailhead and come prepared for an outdoor learning experience.
