Reptiles with a Ranger

Get an up-close look at some of Texas’ fascinating native reptiles during this interactive ranger-led program at Lake Brownwood State Park. Participants will have the opportunity to observe and even touch several live, harmless animals, including a Texas indigo snake and a speckled kingsnake. Along the way, guests will learn about the biology of these remarkable creatures and the important role reptiles play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

Held in the Group Dining Hall, this engaging program features more than live animal encounters. Guests can explore snake sheds, turtle shells, photographs, and other interactive displays that offer a closer look at the unique adaptations and natural history of Texas reptiles. It’s a fun and educational experience for curious visitors of all ages.
