Tree Rings & History with Ranger George
Join Ranger George at Lake Brownwood State Park for a special Independence Day program celebrating our nation’s 250th Anniversary. Discover how to read the past through tree rings! Using “tree cookies” cut from trees that have died in the park, Ranger George will show how to age trees and highlight major historic events in both the park’s and the nation’s history. He’ll even help participants find meaningful years in the rings, like birthdays or anniversaries.

Held in the scenic Day Use Area near the Swimming Area, it offers a fun and educational way to connect with nature and history.
