All aboard! The Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor Center is excited to bring you this year’s Model Railroad Camp! For three days in June, your kids can learn about the wonders of the railroad, get hands-on, take part in a scavenger hunt, create their own train dioramas, and much, much more. They’re guaranteed to come away with memories that’ll last a lifetime (not to mention a pretty nifty commemorative shirt). A special guest speaker from TXR Railway will also be there to give your kiddos some insight into what railroading looks like today. Click HERE to register online by June 9th. Admission is $50 per child.

Located across the street from the historic Brownwood Santa Fe Depot and Fred Harvey House, the Lehnis Museum exhibits the history of trains in Brownwood, Central Texas, and the American Southwest.  The Lehnis Museum also serves as the Brownwood Visitor Center.  Exhibits include a variety of memorabilia and equipment, photos and stories of early railroads while vividly interpreting the importance of the railroad to this area and American life. Also on display are running model trains of every size. Of course, one of the museum’s biggest attractions is its mini-train, a fully functioning miniature train offering $2 rides to railroad enthusiasts of all ages.
