Youth Fair

January

The Brown County Youth Fair is traditionally held throughout the second week of January. The fair features a cattle show, horse show, goat show, sheep show, swine show, vendors, food, and much more. The fair is located at the Brown County Fairgrounds, located at 4206 US-377 in Brownwood.

Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit

February

Each February the Brownwood Civic and Cultural Center hosts the annual Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit. This juried exhibit runs for two weeks and culminates with the presentation of $6500 in prizes. The is no entry fee for the exhibit and the public is welcome to tour the art and interact with daily art demonstrators.

Cinco de Mayo Downtown Celebration

Hosted by the Arts Council of Brownwood, the downtown Brownwood Cinco de Mayo celebration features live music, street performances, contests, children’s games, vendors, food and more! The celebration is held on the Friday closest to the 5th of May each year.

Brown County Rodeo

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in all things Texan, look no further than the Brown County Rodeo. Livestock shows, country music, a parade, and lots of folks wearing cowboy hats and boots can be seen at this can’t-miss annual event in Brownwood. The rodeo is held for three days in early June at the Brown County Fairgrounds.

Heartland Hot Rod Run

Corks & Caps

October

Savor delicious beers and wines from breweries and vineyards across the country at this annual culinary event in Brownwood. A variety of food trucks serving up palate-pleasing entrees and desserts along with concerts from local bands are part of the event, as well.

Howard Payne University Homecoming

Featuring a parade and more, this annual event draws alumni and their families back to the HPU campus and the Brownwood community each year.

Trick or Treat Trail

Dress your youngster up in their best spooky outfit and head on over to the Depot Plaza for a night of trick or treating, games, and fun. Local businesses set up shop in the plaza and hand out candy and other types of goodies and Halloween-themed movies and cartoons will be shown.

Christmas Under the Stars Festival

December

Ring in the holiday season with funnel cakes, hot chocolate, and a variety of festive activities for folks of all ages at the Christmas Under the Stars Festival. The event includes a visit from Jolly Old Saint Nick himself, crafts projects for the youngsters, big wheel races, live music, and a Christmas play. It all kicks off in early December with a parade in downtown Brownwood, followed up by two nights of revelry at the Depot Complex and Lehnis Railroad Museum.

Sipping Under the Stars

traditionally paired with the Christmas Under the Stars Festival, this adult-favorite event encourages attendees to stroll downtown Brownwood while shopping at participating boutiques. Local wineries and breweries will have samples available throughout downtown, as well as for sale by the glass or by the bottle.
