Most recently, Lucille + Mabel Kitchen and Libations has elevated Brownwood’s cuisine to a whole new level with gourmet comfort food and a very extensive drink list. You might notice the smell of freshly-baked pastries and homemade breads coming from Baked Artisan GoodsTeddy’s BrewhausPioneer Tap House, and Primal Brewing provide delicious Texas beer options and great atmospheres. 10 Mile Productions offers regional wines as well as fun events. Stone’s Grove has some of the coolest decor in the city and the best cocktails. CJ’s Cigar Lounge is another great option for unique drinks and the finest cigars. If nightlife isn’t your thing, Intermission Bookshop is a beautifully preserved building that once served as a theatre and has become a hub for those looking for a good book and great conversation. Brownwood has a variety of museums to explore including the Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor CenterThe Axe House and Twisted Axes also recently opened to entertain you downtown.

When it comes to shopping, Brownwood has so much to offer. Shaw’s Marketplace, with its new luxury backyard, offers a curated vendor marketplace with everything from popcorn to boutique clothing and camping equipment. Matt’s Mantiques hits a home run with his concept that brings vintage signs, motorworks, and sports memorabilia under one roof. Cooler weather and pumpkin flavors can only mean one thing—it’s time to celebrate the holidays with our annual city festivals. Corks and Caps kicks off in October with local beer and wine vendors from all over Texas. Don’t put your glasses away because Sipping Under the Stars continues in December with a unique merged shopping and wine-tasting experience.
