Brownwood Event Center Complex

Howard Payne University will welcome Grammy Award-winning Christian artist Chris Tomlin to Brownwood for a free community concert and night of worship on Sunday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m. The evening will take place at the outdoor stage at the Brownwood Event Center, bringing the community together for an uplifting night of live music, worship, and fellowship. Originally scheduled for April, the concert was postponed due to severe weather. Howard Payne University has since worked with Chris Tomlin’s team, the City of Brownwood, and community partners to bring the event back to the community. Admission is free and open to everyone.

Howard Payne University will welcome the community for its annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 1. The festive evening will fill the campus with the sounds of the season as HPU musicians and performers come together to celebrate Christmas through music. A beloved Brownwood holiday tradition, the concert brings the university and surrounding community together for an evening of seasonal music and celebration. Past performances have featured the HPU Yellow Jacket Band and Concert Choir alongside community musicians. Additional details will be announced as they become available.

Spring Art Stomp returns to Downtown Brownwood, March 2026. Hosted by Visit Brownwood in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Brown County and the Brownwood Art Association, this annual event brings together local businesses, artists, wineries, and breweries for an afternoon that highlights the creativity and collaboration found throughout the community. The Spring Art Stomp is a self-guided sip-and-stroll experience through Downtown Brownwood. Ticket holders visit participating businesses while enjoying craft beverage tastings, viewing local artwork, and experience live demonstrations and performances along the way. Throughout the afternoon, attendees enjoy artist showcases, interactive art opportunities, shopping, and live music. Wineries and breweries are paired with downtown businesses, creating a unique experience at each stop. Proceeds from the event benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Brown County, supporting programs and opportunities for local youth.
