Let’s get prehistoric! The annual sensation is back, and Dino Day is on the horizon! Head to the Brown County Museum of History as they journey to the wild, wonderful, prehistoric world of dinosaurs! This program will highlight different hands-on activities and crafts. Various stations throughout the museum will serve to educate and excite dinosaur lovers of all ages. Said stations include (but are not limited to):
- Fossils
- Egg creations
- Archaeology
- Geodes
- Special presentation all day with Park Ranger Zach Riggs from Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, TX
This will be a come-and-go event. However, due to the popularity of the event, the museum has set various ticket times. If you would like to avoid wait times, you can purchase tickets HERE. Otherwise, you can purchase tickets at the door. Ages 4 and up are $5, and anyone under that is free! All ages are welcome. The only requirement is that you’re excited to learn about dinos!
The museum exhibits over 150 years of Brown County history, from the Penateka Comanche and the earliest Texan settlers to the WWII-era Camp Bowie military collection, as well as modern soil and grass conservation from Colonel Burns Ranch. Kids love the children’s area and the miniature Birdsong Circus. After browsing the rich history of Brown County, guests will enjoy a guided tour of the old jail across the street and be transported back in time to see glimpses of what life was like as a Brown County sheriff… or as an inmate.
