Brownwood is for Lovers
Heart-shaped candies, handwritten cards, and small tokens of affection are all hallmarks of a standard Valentine’s Day. Though, if you want to take your celebration to the next level, spend your special day in Brownwood! Previously named one of the Best Texas Towns to Visit in the Winter, there is no greater time to take a trip than Valentine’s Day weekend. This year, our local businesses are spreading the love with unique gifts, intimate getaways, and romantic five-course menus.
Thoughtful Gifting
Looking for the perfect Valentine’s gift to show your love and appreciation can be daunting, but you can’t go wrong if you shop at one of Brownwood’s many boutiques and shops, like Shaw’s Marketplace, where an array of 20 unique vendors each have something special to offer. Has there ever been a better excuse to indulge in chocolate? This year, Turtle Enoteca is your one-stop sweet shop, serving up decadent chocolates to treat your sweetheart, your friends, or even yourself! Or if you’d rather shop the true staple of love, the ultimate Valentine’s gift, head over to Glamour Shop for the finest jewelry collection in Brownwood. When in doubt, diamonds are a girl’s best friend! And for the impossible to shop for man in your life, you’ll surely hit a home run with a gift from Matt’s Mantiques.
Classical Romance
New to the celebration of love this year is a trio of musicians from the Sienna String Quartet, coming from Austin to the Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit. The “Sweetheart Strings Concert” will consist of one hour of classical music, followed by one hour of contemporary. Afterward, stroll hand in hand through the gallery of art and sculptures from local Texan artists. Tickets, currently on sale, include two concert seats, two glasses of wine, and a blossoming rose.
A Weekend Away
Sometimes, a relationship just needs a romantic weekend getaway, and lucky for us, that is the specialty of the Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast. Share a kiss under the stars, a dip in the hot tub, and a gourmet breakfast in bed when you book a private cottage, just four miles from town. Or whisk your special someone away to The Hideout Golf Club & Resort for a weekend complete with fishing, golfing, hiking, and romantic dinners.
Share a Glass of Rosé
Just like romance, wine can be light and sweet, bold and unique, or refreshing and new. To find the perfect blend that compliments your sweetheart, stop by 10 Mile Productions or Spirit of Texas Winery. An intimate wine tasting from local, Texas Vineyards is a great way to share your love. 10 Mile Productions is even hosting a decadent five-course dinner to accompany your evening.
Dinner for 2
Brownwood’s restaurants are certainly bringing the passion. Celebrate over oysters, lobster tail, and filet mignon at Teddy’s Brewhaus, or dine in a unique Parisian experience at The Turtle Restaurant. If you prefer an intimate night at home, Pioneer Tap House has crafted a thoughtful takeout package of wine, pizza, and smores. Whatever your celebration style may be, make sure to place your reservation in advance.
Celebrate in Brownwood
Love is in the air here in Brownwood for all couples – those that have been together for decades and even the ones recently struck by Cupid’s arrow. So whether you’re planning a candlelight dinner or you want to go the extra mile, Brownwood’s local businesses offer the choices to spend Valentine’s Day exactly as you see fit.
