Star Party

Experience the wonder of the night sky during a special evening of stargazing at Lake Brownwood State Park. Guests will have the opportunity to view celestial objects through telescopes while learning about stars, constellations, and other fascinating sights overhead from knowledgeable volunteers. Whether attending for the first time or returning as a seasoned skywatcher, this program offers an unforgettable look at the universe above.

✨ Starry Skies & Shared Discovery

The program takes place in the park’s Day Use Area, where visitors are encouraged to bring a folding chair or blanket to relax under the stars. To help preserve everyone’s night vision, guests should bring a red light instead of a white flashlight and be mindful of vehicle headlights when arriving and departing. Astronomy enthusiasts are also welcome to bring their own telescopes and share their passion for the night sky with fellow participants.

🌌 Admission & Information

This program is included with park admission and is weather dependent. Guests who would like to volunteer as astronomy educators can contact the park staff for more information. Visitors are encouraged to call the park during operating hours before attending to check the status of the program if weather conditions are uncertain.
