30 Things to Do in Brownwood Texas This Summer

You may have heard of Brownwood, Texas, and may even have visited before, but over the past few years so much has changed! Through strategic investments with the Brownwood Municipal Development District, city leaders, and business ventures from local entrepreneurs, Brownwood has a whole lot going for it! Over the next few weeks, we are going to share 30 things you can do when you Visit Brownwood this Summer. Our first installment focuses on the great outdoors. We are highlighting five of our favorite things to do in the outdoors during the Summer in Brownwood. There are many other great things to do and explore, but this list will help get you started on your Brownwood adventure.

A Visit to the Hideout Golf Club & Resort  

The Hideout is a hidden gem of Central Texas. This property located next to the beautiful shores of Lake Brownwood offers championship golf, vacation-style getaways, and relaxation not found anywhere else in our region. Amenities range from RV pads, rooms at the main lodge, family cabins, all the way up through Ranch Houses. The Hideout is a perfect getaway with beautiful pools, the delicious Hideout Grill restaurant, as well as special events, and endless opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and much more!.

Camping at Lake Brownwood State Park

Lake Brownwood State Park is the perfect place to spend hot Summer days. Reel in a fish, explore the lake by boat or go for a swim. You can also water ski, Jet Ski and paddle. There are also six miles of trails for those looking to hike, but the Nopales Ridge Trail is also open to biking. There are a range of campsite options, but make sure to make your reservations in advance because Summer dates fill up quickly. Spend a Day at Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center

Camp Bowie Aquatic Center is one of Brownwood’s most popular Summer attractions. The Aquatic Center features a 7,000 square foot recreational pool, a giant slide tower, water geysers, lap swimming lanes, a lazy river, springboard diving, and so much more. A family-friendly environment with fun for all ages. There is no better place to be in Brownwood in the Summer heat than the Family Aquatic Center.

Explore Riverside Park

Riverside Park is over 46 acres of land adjacent to the Pecan Bayou. It includes a large playground area, sand volleyball court, nature trails, bbq pits, and many more amenities for family events. The park also includes an 18 hole frisbee disc golf course. The park also includes a boat ramp and can be scheduled for kayak and stand-up paddleboard experiences.
