We at The Brownwood Store hear from customers every day, “I had no idea that this cute store was in here!!!”
So bring a friend, browse all the Texas gifts, while picking up your Brownwood Visitors Guide.
Some of the merchandise you will find:
Besides the great t-shirts, caps, and souvenirs, you’ll find fabulous Stone crosses carved from local bedrock, exclusive Brownwood ornaments, mesquite pieces carved by Lyn Means and soaps and creams from local artisans. There are regional books, children’s books, including the Hank the Cowdog series, Texas history books, and bestselling and local cookbooks. The store also has books about Texas ghost tours, Texas heroes, outlaws, Indians, cowboys and politicians. Our best sellers are from local authors, Harry Marlin, Terry Beck, Pierce Burns, Roy Spence, and Mike Millican. We have horny toads, Indian jewelry, Roadkill candles from Sterling City, and everything from shingles to wineglasses painted by Ted and Martha Shelton. Just arrived are many Texas, train, and Americana puzzles that make great presents!
In our cupboard, there are Texas shaped waffle irons and cutting boards, Perini Ranch steak rub, loads of Texas dips and Royito’s Hot Sauce…the best Texas salsa we’ve ever tasted! You’ll find Fredericksburg jelly made from prickly cactus, mesquite beans, wild plums, agarita berries, mayhaw, jalapenos and of course peaches. So come grab a new Texas flag or beach towel to show your Texas pride, or pick up a magnet or mug to show where you’ve been!
And yes, we are still the Chamber and the visitor center, so pop in for a free map, brochures, or phonebook, advice on starting a new business or info on joining the Chamber. Our doors are always open!
