The City of Brownwood will hold their inaugural public event on Saturday, June 15th to celebrate the opening of the Brownwood Event Center Complex (located at 601 E Baker Street) to showcase this state-of-the-art facility to the community.
The Brownwood Event Center Grand Opening Preview will be a public event that will provide an opportunity to tour the new facility and will feature a variety of food trucks, family activities and live music to showcase the capabilities of the new complex.
“We are excited to open the new Brownwood Event Center Complex to the public during our inaugural event,” said Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes. “We invite the public to be the first to enjoy this wonderful new facility that will benefit the citizens of Brownwood for generations to come.”
The event will take place on Saturday, June 15th, from 3 PM to 9 PM. Please join us for an evening filled with fun for the whole family.
Schedule and Activities:
- Ribbon Cutting: Join Mayor Stephen E. Haynes for a ribbon cutting held at 2:30 pm with the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.
- Facility Tours: Preview the Brownwood Event Center Complex and explore the versatile event spaces. Tour the Ice House from 3 pm – 4 pm. The Brownwood Event Center will be open from 3 pm – 6 pm.
- Food Trucks on Site: Enjoy a variety of delicious food options from a selection of popular food trucks, available from 3 pm to 9 pm.
- Live Music on the Main Stage: Picnic on Reunion lawn while you enjoy live music performances throughout the evening. Table and Chairs will be provided. The music lineup features local favorites: Cadillac Thieves, The Remedy, Throttleneck Tx, McKenna Kosowski, and Callahan Divide.
- Family Activities & Outdoor Games: Keep the whole family entertained with a variety of fun activities and games from 3 pm to 6 pm.
- Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor Center Extended Hours: Enjoy free admission and complimentary mini train rides at the Lehnis facility until 5 pm.

Tour the Ice House from 3 pm – 4 pm. After 4 pm, we will be closing the Ice House, and allowing access for musicians only. The Ice House contains two meeting rooms, green room, and restrooms.
The Brownwood Event Center will be open from 3 pm – 6 pm. The Event Center has a large banquet hall, break out spaces, catering kitchen, restrooms, lower lobby and upstairs lobby.

The Heartland Cruisers will have a car show from 3 pm – 6 pm. The Lehnis Railroad Museum will have extended hours until 5 pm offering free admission and mini train rides

Individuals and organizations interested in booking the facility can be added to waitlist by filling out a booking request form at brownwoodeventcenter.com. After the June 15th preview event staff will work on finalizing dates of availability and coordinate request based on order of submission, size of event, and flexibility of date. The event waitlist currently has over 80+ submission for dates. Staff asks for patience as we complete construction, and convert request into finalized bookings.
The Brownwood Event Center Complex will be set up with outdoor tables and chair for sitting to eat on the lawn, and additional chairs to enjoy the live music on stage. No lawn chairs are needed.
The Brownwood Preview is a free event, including entrance, music and all outdoor activities. Food and vendors will be on site selling items.
The Preview Event will not be serving, or allowing alcohol on premise. Please visit establishments in Downtown Brownwood before or after the event concludes for addition food and drink options.
