Bert V Massey II Sports Complex

This 66 acre complex opened in May 2011 and features both youth and adult baseball and softball fields.  Equipped with portable mounds, softball and baseball fields can be set up to accommodate larger tournament fields when needed.

Camp Bowie Soccer Complex

This 23 acre multi field complex opened in 2015 and is host to Brownwood local soccer association teams.  Covered with Bermuda 419 natural turf, the complex is kept in excellent shape year round.  The complex provides versatility for a variety of other events as well. With excellent parking and close proximity to Gordon Wood Stadium, the Bert V. Massey Complex & Festival Park the possibilities are endless.

Gordon Wood Stadium

Named after the legendary High School Football Coach, Gordon Lenear Wood, this historic football mecca is home to the Brownwood Lions Football, Soccer, & Track Programs as well as Howard Payne University’s Yellow Jackets Football.  New artificial turf added in 2014 make for an excellent playing surface in every month of the year.  Other recent additions are a new 36’ x 38’ scoreboard featuring an 18’ x 33’ video display and updated restroom.  These features make for the ultimate stadium venue for an event of any size.

Brownwood Coliseum 

Originally built in 1963, this multipurpose facility is home of the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets Basketball and Volleyball programs.

Skate Park

Opened in the summer of 2016 the Brownwood Skate Parks boasts a 100’ x 50’ concrete slab with 7 skilled ramps and challenges for enthusiast of all skill levels.  Recent updates include lighting and updated restrooms.  The Brownwood Skate Park is open daily and its open surroundings and bleachers make it an excellent venue for skate & bike tournaments.

Riverside Park Disc Golf Course

Established in 2013, the Riverside Disc Golf Course provides challenges to disc golfers of all skill levels.  Lined with 100 year old pecan trees and picturesque views of the Pecan Bayou, 18 well balanced holes weave through the beautiful Riverside Park.  The Course host many tournaments throughout the year and is home to the Brownwood Disc Golf Association.  Picnic areas, restrooms and playgrounds are also available at no charge.

Pecan Bayou Paddling Trail

With the official opening in 2015, the Pecan Bayou Paddling Trail became the 63rd official Texas Paddling Trail.  Paddlers can access the trail from Fabis Primitive Park or Riverside Park and take on a variety of routes up or down stream.  The trail incorporates a peaceful stretch of wildlife rich settings along the pecan lined shores.  The trail also offers great angling opportunities for both recreational and tournament competitions.
